This was the motivation that led to the birth of Utsav App in 2021 by three visionary engineers—Sourajit Basu, Ankita De, and Prajata Samanta—just to digitize the world-famous Durga Puja of Kolkata. This allowed everyone—particularly those outside geographic boundaries—to virtually participate in the celebrations.

As the times pass, it has been quite wonderful to see the app evolve. Some today use the Utsav App with over 30 recognized religious organizations across India.

Funding Growth through Strategic Investments

The app's innovation mechanism has not only attracted public attention but has also drawn the attention of multiple potential investors. In December 2021, the startup secured its micro-funding from Become 100X.VC.

And quite naturally, this momentum culminated in a successful seed funding round at June 2023, while the company raised ₹2 crores under the lead of India's most reputed India Quotient.

The most recent milestone was with a Pre-Series A round collecting ₹6.35 crores. This was headed by Equanimity Investments and supported by India's leading backer, India Quotient.
